Bill was a hero.

At 18, Bill answered the call to serve in World War II. After the war, he built a life with his wife of 65 years, raising two children in a home filled with love.

When his wife passed, Bill remained independent until a fall at age 95 changed everything. His daughter, Anne, knew she couldn’t do it alone.

“I thought, ‘What next? How do I care for him?’ And I knew—call Empath.”

From that moment on, Suncoast Hospice provided the Full Life Care Bill and Anne needed, helping him stay home where he felt safe and loved.

One night, when Bill struggled to breathe, a hospice nurse arrived at 2:30 AM. She was calm, reassuring, and ready to help. By morning, he was comfortable again, enjoying breakfast and football.

Bill’s story is a reminder that hospice care isn’t just for patients, it’s for the families who love them. His final days were filled with dignity, peace, and the people who mattered most.
