If it’s true that three times is a charm, then the Empath Health Women’s Giving Network (WGN) is a charmed group of volunteer philanthropists indeed.
Fiscal Year 2019 was the third year that the WGN came together to award their collective donations to worthwhile and compelling patient-serving projects across Empath Health. With more than three times as many members in 2019 as in 2017, the WGN continues to grow its impact.
In 2017 nine women came together to pool their donations and make awards to help patients and families facing end-of-life care. That year, the group awarded $9,000 to four projects. In 2018, as members invited their friends to participate, the total awarded grew to $18,000, and in 2019 the Women’s Giving Network awarded $23,625 to eight projects!
A growth spurt this year brought the total members of WGN to 28. The Empath Health Women’s Giving Network is proud to welcome the following new members in 2019:
-
- Jane Cadwallader, Countryside
- Candy Christensen-Barker, Safety Harbor
