In 1993, the Lights of Lake Park holiday lights display was created to celebrate the life of neighbor Ruby Dow and honor the care she received from Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, your community non-profit hospice provider for more than 40 years.
Fast forward 27 years and the community is still supporting this ever-growing holiday light display in support of Suncoast Hospice! Since 1993, Lights of Lake Park has raised over $970,000 going towards vital programs and services in our community and this year we look forward to crossing the $1 million mark!
We invite you to come see the wonderful holiday lights December 1-31 from 6-9:30pm every evening.
This year will be a little different in order to make this event safe for everyone. Please remain in your cars for the entire route. Candy canes and dog treats will not be handed out this year. And we will have a socially-distanced donation station at the Suncoast Hospice cart along the route or you can donate at our website or text EMPATH to 74121 at any time.
Another great way to enjoy the lights and add to your holiday spirit is to become a Lights of Lake Park volunteer. You can sign up with your family, co-workers or just come out and meet other great supporters of Suncoast Hospice Foundation. There is no training required but there will be an orientation the first night you volunteer. This is a great way for teens to earn Bright Future hours.
We hope you will come out and enjoy this holiday tradition!
