Empath Health’s Women’s Giving Network (WGN) is dedicated to inspiring, educating and encouraging women to affect change through philanthropy and leadership.

The WGN values the mission and work of Empath Health, through a donation of at least $1,000 per year. Annual contributions from the WGN members are pooled together and used to implement and improve the services of the member programs of Empath Health. These programs include hospice, palliative care, home health, independent living assistance and day care for seniors, advanced care planning, traumatic grief counseling and HIV services.

Each year the WGN shares their resources and guidance in determining how their funds are distributed through grants that implement and sustain Empath Health services and programs for the next fiscal year.

At the 2019 Grant Making Luncheon, one of the grants the WGN selected to fund was the Memory/Keepsake Photoshoot proposal that requested funding for twelve photo sessions for our pediatric hospice patients and their families. Recently our pediatric hospice team arranged for a photographer to do a photoshoot at the home of Cameron, one of our young patients. The photographer captured photos of the whole family that will be treasured for years to come.

This past June, the WGN came together and made the decision to use their 2020 pooled gifts to support Empath Health’s needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The WGN share a unique vision and commitment that enriches our organization and supports Empath Health’s services within the community.

Women looking to make a difference in their community are invited to learn more about joining the WGN.  Contact Director of Philanthropy Karen Van De Putte at (727) 523-3422 or KarenVanDePutte@EmpathHealth.org to learn more.
